About Me

I left school in the early 60’s and trained in a local drawing office as a technical illustrator, then went to Luton School of Art studying technical illustration 5 year day release and acquired final City and Guilds in 1969.  During the late 60’s during the college course I trained with the late James Allington who mainly produced cut-away perspective drawings for the motor industry working for the Ford motor company and Lotus cars, producing spare parts lists etc.  As in those days pen and ink line drawings were shaded to a high specification.  I was mainly producing line drawings for the accessory parts lists.  I learnt a great skill in the pen and ink techniques. 

I was interested in producing local views in pen and ink and also drawings of Pubs, Hotels, etc for brochures and cards.  I framed my own work with limited recourses and then fell more into commercial picture framing and art-work.  I attended seminars run by the fine art trade guild in the 70’s and 80’s where the framing techniques were shown.  Framing some things can be a challenge and I think it give one a thrill to turn someone’s masterpiece or certificate into an added piece of furniture for their home.
